BP2 QTR4: UN Quick Write

The UN is an organization promoting peace and non-conflict among all countries in the entire world. UN stands for "United Nations", which means all nations coming together and working together to maintain peace and progress. And it would be 'all nations' because the UN is open to any country who wants to join it. But there are more countries who are NOT part of the UN than the ones who are joined.

A lot of people feel that the UN is insignificant in todays world. I strongly disagree. The UN is extremely significant, but is it for a good reason? To be honest I feel that all that the UN does is get into other country's business. Sure they do some good things, like handing out vacines and rationing food, but I think that we have enough problems in our own nation to be worrying about other peoples problems. I do like it when they help out countries where there has recently been a natural disaster, but when they try to help with a war effort, we lose our own lives in the process. Also it has happened when we try to help, and we become part of the war itself.

Look at it this way, say someone was robbing a bank at gunpoint. Everyone is working very hard to not get shot, but sometimes when the police come in, the police are the ones who are getting shot. But other times they know how to do things, and the person is arrested and no one is hurt. I think the UN knows what they're doing, they're just going at it at the wrong way.

BP 1 QTR3: T-Shirt Travels Reaction Paper

2. The salvation army sends most of the clothes they get to Zambia. The largest export from Africa to USA is second hand clothes. Commercial dealers make the most money out of this export business. And Africans have enough second hand clothes coming to them that they don't have to make their own clothes. Although tribes and non-city people in Africa do make their own clothes.

4. The Zambians say that they like america, that america is good to them, that america is very clever (^_^) The want to be more like us,

6, The Zambians problems such as street children, and horrible debt and a corrupted economy. I found that T shirt travels has really spoken to me, it has inspired me to not rely as other things. The Zambians face all theses problems in their country and their living spaces, being poor, and yet still Maintain a happy, cheerful mood. After seeing this video, i will now donate more clothes.

This is what happens when you commit adultery in Iran ^

"We have got news from Iran that they are free," Mina Ahadi, the spokesperson for the anti-stoning commitee says in Iran. "We are waiting for another confirmation: apparently there will be a program this evening on (Iranian) television and then we will be 100 per cent sure." Well that program ran, and she's free.
Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani, a 43 year old lady with 2 kids was given death sentences by 2 different courts in a small town in Iran called Tabriz all the way back in 2006. She was involved with the killing of her husband(which caused her jail time), and in 2007 they added the hanging onto a 10 year jail sentence. But after a SEACOND case of adultery, the woman will be stoned, along with the person who killed her husband.

Well, I don't know much about the customs and cultures about Iranians, but i do know that isn't cool. Wherever you live. I don't exactly agree with the whole death sentence-stoning-jail time ordeal. I do believe that adultery and murder isn't good, but killing someone for killing? Doesn't make a point in my head. Now I do believe that you should have some consequence for murder, but that is not it.
